The GMI radiology department is one of the largest, most modern, and fully integrated centres in Cyprus, offering almost all diagnostic and interventional radiological procedures.
Diagnostic Unit
The Unit is equipped with two multislice CT scanners, two MRI scanners, a digital mammograph system, a bone mineral density scanner, two digital radiography systems, a digital radiography/fluoroscopy system and a multitude of ultrasound systems. Assessment of the examinations is supported by specialised software programs that integrate state-of-the-art technology in the fields of data processing and artificial intelligence (AI).
Interventional Unit
The interventional radiology unit of the German Medical Institute stands as one of the few facilities across Europe where interventional procedures are performed using all available imaging modalities. In addition to the conventional employment of ultrasound, CT and fluoroscopy/angiography, which are established imaging methods for interventional procedures in the majority of healthcare institutions, our centre also conducts interventional procedures with MRI and PET/CT.
