About

Welcome to the Department of Thoracic Surgery at the German Medical Institute (GMI).

Our department is a modern, highly specialised centre for Minimally Invasive Thoracic Surgery, offering the full spectrum of thoracic procedures with a focus on Video-Assisted Thoracoscopic Surgery (VATS).

Operating within a fully equipped and technologically advanced hospital environment, our team manages even the most complex thoracic cases, offering surgical treatment for a wide range of conditions affecting the lungs, pleura, mediastinum, and chest wall.

Our collaboration with multidisciplinary teams within the GMI—such as Oncology, Pulmonology, Radiology, and Intensive Care—ensures comprehensive, patient-centred care. Combined with our state-of-the-art equipment, this integrated approach allows us to provide thoracic surgery at the highest standards of precision, safety, and effectiveness.

Whether you require a diagnostic procedure or a complex lung resection, our mission is to ensure that your care is conducted with excellence, compassion, and respect—every step of the way.
