Department of Cardiology
In the cardiac catheterisation laboratory, we diagnose and treat diseases of the heart.
Our services include:
• Transthoracic and transoesophageal 3D echocardiography
• Coronary angiography and catheter-based examination of the left and right heart
• Assessment of coronary physiology
• Intracardiac and intravascular ultrasound
• Coronary angioplasty and stent implantation for the treatment of coronary artery disease, both in patients with stable disease and in patients with myocardial infarction (heart attack)
• Removal of calcified plaques using rotational atherectomy and shockwave lithotripsy
• Implantation of electronic cardiac devices such as pacemakers, implantable cardioverter-defibrillators (ICD), and cardiac resynchronisation therapy for heart failure (CRT)
