Radiation Oncology Department

The German Oncology Center is equipped with the most modern equipment in the world for carrying out external and interventional radiation therapy. In line with international guidelines, we hold regular Oncology Board Meetings of all associated medical disciplines, to ensure that decisions concerning personalized treatments are objective and reliable.

Our services include:

External Radiotherapy Unit

External Radiotherapy is carried out in special radioactive-protected rooms where high-energy X-Rays are aimed at the tumor using a machine called linear accelerator. The External Radiotherapy Unit has two state-of-art linear accelerator (Electa Versa HD and Electa Synergy (LINAC), and a General Electric CT scanner.

Interstitial Brachytherapy Unit

Our comprehensive and technologically advanced Clinic for interventional radiotherapy-brachytherapy enjoys worldwide recognition. Brachytherapy is an internal radiation treatment, using radioactive sources. This is the main factor that makes it differ from external radiotherapy, where rays are administered to the patient from outside the body.

Over the years, this method, as it is practiced now at the German Oncology Center, has yielded remarkable results in treating prostate, cervical and breast cancers. Results, which have been published in recognized and respected medical journals worldwide.
